I am failing heartily right now. I made it all the way to the letter Q and then I skipped right by R, S, and T. Boo. My only excuse would be that it was Easter weekend and I had tons of family things going on. So, here, for your reading enjoyment, are my make-up posts (don't worry, pictures are included!).
R Is for Revisions...
I pretty much hate making revisions. There's a little part of me that feels like I'm wasting time. I always think, "If I would have got this right in the first draft, I wouldn't be re-editing this paragraph for the four hundredth time." But everyone revises. It would be crazy not to. Writing is a process and no one ever gets it exactly right on the first try (heck, I'm even revising this entry as I write!).
So try to remember that, LOLCat, next time you feel like editing a few faces.
S Is for Shirley Jackson...
Please, please, please, if you have never read We Have Always Lived in the Castle, run, do not walk, to your nearest library to get a copy. Shirley Jackson is magnificent. I read this book last year and then breezed through the rest of her titles which range from horror to homemaking (uh-huh).
Just do it. Seriously.
T Is for Television...
I've been watching A LOT of TV lately. For one thing, it's easy to do with a baby in your arms. Another reason is I love watching the way plotting, pacing, and character play out on television shows. So, that makes it research, right?
My favorite shows right now? It's a big list: 30 Rock, Community, Friday Night Lights, Glee, American Idol, Hoarders, Modern Family, The Daily Show, and The Colbert Report. I still wish we got MTV because 16 & Pregnant and Teen Mom were seriously addicting. I'm also anxiously awaiting Mad Men, which is said to arrive on Netflix in July.
U Is for Unfit... well, maybe I'm not so bad after all.
How are you all doing so far? Are you glad that April's almost over? Are you enjoying the chance to read other blogs?
