So, I had a pretty okay week.
It started out excellently on Monday when an artist friend asked whether or not I would like to help a marketing friend of hers with a freelance writing job (Me: Yes! Woo-hoo!). Then I got a really, super nice rejection from an agent who told me she liked the concept of my novel and that I had many "strong sentences" (very nice), but that it just wasn't right for her. She also offered some advice for finding an agent that might better fit with my work. Awesome, right?
The next day, I got another "not right for me" rejection, but my spirits were not dampened. No, they weren't.
Today: two form rejections. Sigh.
And I still haven't heard from the freelance person yet (not that I expected her to drop everything to contact me, so I don't think that ship has sailed yet).
On the plus side, I finally painted my toenails, so my feet no longer look as though they belong to a hobo.
This weekend: Work on improving my query letter! Paint fingernails?
