First Post

So, I decided to start a blog. I'm hoping it will give me a chance to share my progress with writing and reading and to build some contacts in the online writing community.

I'm currently looking for an agent or publisher for my young adult novel, High Hopes. It's a modern retelling of Jane Austen's classic, Gothic parody, Northanger Abbey. I'm also working on another novel for adults right now (well, not right now).

I'm also hoping to get some more of my work out there. I'd like to start submitting some stories and poems to literary magazines or journals in the hopes that I can build up some more publishing credits. I've been kind of lazy with this and I know I need to do a lot more work.
